Lily family

Plants in the lily family have undivided leaves and flowers with three petals and three sepals. These are often the same colour, giving the appearance of six petals.

As well as the lilies themselves, the best known native being lily of the valley, the group includes onions and their relatives, such as wild garlic, and other woodland plants such as bluebell, herb paris and, surprisingly, a shrub called butcher's broom.
